QA Bake Tester

QA Bake Testers have a unique role in ensuring that the dough products meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and appearance.

They work in collaboration with the production team and are responsible for conducting routine and non-routine analysis of dough products.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine and non-routine tests of dough products to ensure they meet the established quality standards

  • Assessing the taste, texture, color, and smell of the products

  • Monitoring quality assurance programs and activities to ensure the quality of products

  • Documenting, compiling, interpreting, and communicating test results

  • Identifying and recommending improvements to production processes to enhance product quality

  • Working closely with the production team to ensure compliance with food safety and GMP practices

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of quality control procedures

Job Brief

  • We are seeking a meticulous Frozen Dough Product Quality Tester to ensure our Frozen Dough Products meet the highest standards of quality and taste.

    The QA Bake Tester responsibilities include sampling and assessing our products, identifying potential areas of improvement, and maintaining detailed reports on product performance.

    Our ideal candidate has a refined palate, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of the baking process.

    Ultimately, the role of the QA Bake Tester is to ensure that our products are performing to customer specifications, visually appealing, and compliant with food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Sample and assess various dough products for taste, texture, and appearance

  • Provide detailed feedback and recommendations for product improvement

  • Perform quality control checks to ensure compliance with food safety regulations

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality testing standards and procedures

  • Document and report product performance and quality issues

  • Collaborate with the production team to improve product consistency and quality

  • Monitor production processes and identify potential areas of concern

  • Conduct periodic inspections of storage and production areas

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience in baking bread, rolls, and bagels; baking frozen dough in in-store bakery is a plus

  • Strong understanding of baking processes and ingredients, including operation of a rack and deck ovens, proof boxes and bread slicers.

  • Excellent sensory skills for assessing the quality of dough products

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control processes

  • Ability to maintain detailed records and prepare quality reports

  • High school education, GED; or up to one-year related experience desired

  • Certification in Food Safety or Quality Control is a plus

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced cool environment, Temp: ~58°-60°.

  • Being on your feet for extended periods and twisting & turning at the waist.

  • Ability to regularly lift cases of approximately 35 lbs to a height of 58” above the floor.

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish

Work Schedule:

  •  Full-Time, M-F (non-seasonal)

  • Day Shift:     5:30 AM – 3:30 PM 40hrs + 10hrs @ 1.5*Base Pay

  • Up to (6) Saturday Shifts per year may be required as production demands dictates
