Warehouse Production / Packaging Employee

$48,000/year, $15/hour plus overtime

Assistant Production Manager

Our company needs a motivated, highly organized Assistant Production Manager to join our team and assist with effective policies and procedures to ensure our production department operates at peak efficiency. We’ll offer excellent benefits and a competitive salary to the right candidate.

Assistant Production Manager responsibilities:

  • Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime
  • Oversee a workforce of approximately 45 – 50 employees in the manufacturing department
  • Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
  • Ensure all employees follow industry standard health and safety guidelines
  • Set ambitious production goals and communicate them to key personnel
  • Provide motivation, support and guidance to all employees
  • Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management
  • Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity

Personal attributes:

  • Working in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Multi-tasking and contributing to various facets of the organization is expected
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word programs is required
  • Customer service focus and great organizational skills will be key to success
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group
  • Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety

Job requirements:

  • Full time for second shift
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent training and experience

Packaging Employee: Full Time

The Packaging Team is broken into three jobs. The Team will rotate between these jobs. All Packaging Employees must learn and be familiar with the responsibilities of all three jobs. Training is provided for all jobs:

Case Packer
Case closer palletizer
Counter

He/she is responsible for:

Counting the amount of product into each case

  • Rolls will be counted at the beginning of the items production run
  • He/she will add 2 rolls after counting the correct amount
  • He/she will set the case scale to the case weight that was established
  • He/she will recheck the count to ensure the case scale is accurately set after one hour of producing the same item

As the product is entering the case he/she will visually perform a QA check

  • Remove product that is not within the products specification or is of poor quality

Place poor quality product into the appropriate remix bin

Notating the break between doughs and informing his partner of the break

  • Remove two sample pieces at the beginning of each dough
  • Give the sample pieces to Case Closer to be placed in Lot Sample case in freezer

Physical attributes for this job

  • Stand on his/her feet for the entire shift
  • Turn and Twist at the waist repeatedly
  • Bend and lift up to 70 pounds over his/her shoulders
  • Some Saturdays are required

Read English well enough to

  • Understand the product weights and sizes that are being produced
  • Speak English well enough to communicate with other employees

Take the appropriate steps to produce a food product that is safe to consume

  • Understanding allergens and how to handle them as stated in the Allergen Program
  • Understanding Good Manufacturing Practices outlined in his/her handbook

We operate a day shift and a night shift

  • Day shift is 4:30 AM to 3:00 PM (approx..)
  • Night Shift is 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM (approx..)
